Belgian couple Pascale and Wim wanted the romantic wedding ceremony they never had and were prepared to travel all the way to Andalucia in Spain to make their dream ceremony come true.
30 years ago they were married at a register office on a tight budget surrounded by people they didn’t really know.
They contacted bilingual wedding celebrant Debbie Skyrme who worked with them over the course of a year to craft their perfect vision of a wedding ceremony.
The couple wanted to renew their vows outdoors at sunrise with views of the sea. Debbie sent videos of various breathtaking locations but one in particular stood out – the clifftop garden of a small “hermita” or chapel.
In late July 2019, as the sun rose over the sparkling Mediterranean way below, Debbie performed a salt ritual to make the space their own and their totally bespoke, intimate ceremony began.
Wearing a beautiful off-shoulder full length white wedding dress Pascale renewed her vows with Wim – looking dashing in a formal blue suit. The couple exchanged new rings made from the melted gold of their old rings and Pascale’s godmother’s ring (a very special person in their lives) and signed a commemorative certificate.
After their vow renewal ceremony, the celebration continued with a Moroccan styled wedding breakfast on the sea wall where photographer Simon Duggan, recreated their original photo from 30 years before – a truly goose-bump occasion that made memories to last them a lifetime.
