Here is how UK couple Zoe and Matt cleverly managed a destination wedding on a budget!
Weather ~ Knowing that the sun shines on average for 320 days in Andalucia, Zoe and Matt chose southern Spain for their wedding rather than travelling long haul and paying more.
Location ~ Move inland 20 minutes and prices are often significantly lower but the venues equally breathtaking. La Cala Resort and Spa is in easy reach of the Malaga coast and airport but offers more privacy than a public beach and luxury surroundings.
Date ~ Out of season is cheaper for many reasons: flights to Malaga were much more economical and the resort hotel was delighted to accommodate a winter wedding by offering a reduced rate.
Day ~ The couple chose to hold their ceremony mid-week instead of at the weekend which cost them less.
Guests ~ A destination wedding means that you do not have to invite second cousins and your parent’s friends to your ceremony – you can be selective! Matt and Zoe chose to celebrate their wedding with their little daughter and immediate family only, making a mico-wedding total of 6 guests, cutting back on catering and resulting in a relaxed and intimate ceremony.
Suppliers ~ By taking advantage of the hotel’s in-house event coordinator, the couple saved money on a destination wedding planner whilst still securing the services of top local wedding celebrant, Debbie Skyrme and photographer Simon Duggan.
Zoe and Matt’s destination micro wedding ceremony was relaxed, intimate, romantic and perfect in every detail without costing a fortune.
